Eng. Ehab Ragee has been appointed Chairman of the Board

Eng. Ehab Ragee has been appointed Chairman of the board and managing director for Tharwa Petroleum Company Minister of Petroleum Decree No. 1700/2021.

Eng. Ehab Ragaee was Chairman of the board and Managing Director of PetroDara and West Bakr Petroleum Companies from Dec 2015 till Oct 2021.

They are a JV company between EGPC and Transglobe.

As Chairman and MD, he worked with the Board of Directors and senior staff to develop strategic and business plans and formulate the organization’s goals, objectives, policies, and programs for both partners.

Prior to this appointment, he served as Chairman and MD of WAHA Petroleum Company from Dec. 2014 to Dec. 2015. He served as undersecretary for production affairs in the Ministry of Petroleum from 2012 to the end of 2014.

He joined the Ministry of Petroleum in 1998 as Assistant General Mgr. for Production Affairs and held a series of positions responsible for reviewing and analyzing the production and operation activities of joint venture companies. In addition, he followed up on world oil and gas reserves, production, consumption, trade and exploration activities, as well as technical standards development.

Eng. Ehab Ragaee began his career with GUPCO in Mar-1990 as a Reservoir Engineer.

He worked in the field until 1995, and then transferred to Cairo headquarters. During this period, he was responsible for all reservoir aspects, including but not limited to reservoir surveillance, reservoir management, reserve calculations, well testing, water injection management, well stimulation, and artificial lift selection and design.

He earned a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Faculty of Petroleum Engineering at Cairo University in 1988 and a Mini MBA from Edinburgh University.

A member of SPE since 1986. Ehab is a member of the SPE Egypt Section Director Board of Directors. He has been an ex-board member of many Petroleum Sector sister companies.
